- Monitors your student's grades and assignments in Canvas LMS
- Sends alerts about grade changes and missing assignments
- Provides AI-powered insights about academic progress
- Helps parents stay informed about their student's education
3. Eligibility and Account Requirements
User Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of the student(s) you monitor
- You must have legal access to the Canvas account you connect
- You must provide accurate and complete information
Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Acceptable Use
You May:
- Use the Service to monitor your own children's academic progress
- Share grade information with other parents/guardians of the same student
- Use insights to support your student's education
You May Not:
- Monitor students you are not the parent/guardian of without proper authorization
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use automated systems to access the Service beyond normal usage
- Share your account credentials with unauthorized third parties
5. Canvas Integration and Data Access
Your Authorization
By connecting your Canvas account, you authorize Apparent to:
- Access your student's grade and assignment information
- Monitor changes to grades and assignments
- Store necessary data to provide monitoring services
Canvas Compliance
We access Canvas data only through official APIs and in compliance with Canvas terms of service and your school district's policies.
6. Subscription and Billing
Free Tier
Our free tier provides basic grade monitoring with no payment required. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier with reasonable notice.
Pro Subscription
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at $20/month
- Additional students are $10/month each
- 14-day free trial available for new Pro users
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- You can cancel at any time through your account settings
Billing and Refunds
- All fees are billed in advance on a monthly basis
- Payment is due immediately upon subscription
- No refunds for partial months, except as required by law
- We may suspend service for non-payment after reasonable notice
7. Service Availability
While we strive for high availability, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Emergency repairs
- Canvas system outages
- Internet or network failures
- Force majeure events
We are not liable for any missed alerts or data during service interruptions.
8. Data and Privacy
